RESORTS DON’T COME MORE ATMOSPHERIC THAN KITZBÜHEL
For resort charm, historic architecture, upmarket facilities, refined entertainment and pulsating après ski – Kitzbühel is pretty much in a league of its own. The pedestrianised centre oozes charm, with colourful buildings lining the labyrinth of cobbled streets and high-end restaurants and bars accommodating guests on their terraces. There are quality shops nestled in the stone archways and passages, whilst the streets are filled with happy, pretty people, strolling the resort centre.
Beyond the remarkably attractive exterior, Kitzbühel also has a working population to keep the town grounded. It is a year-round town with atmosphere in every season and doesn’t suffer the closed feel of some other alpine resorts. From the resort, the mighty Hahnenkamm ski race piste is visible, reminding visitors that as well as its shops, restaurants and high-end hotels, Kitzbühel is principally there to serve the mountains and its global brand is due to it hosting the world’s most fearsome and spectacular ski race each January.
